Originally from Northern Ireland, Kenny is a full-time grandfather and part-time driver!

In a previous life, he was a Scene of Crimes Officer and that’s probably why he has such an excellent sense of humour!

  • How long at CPW: Since 2013
  • Favourite wine (s): A follower of the Botham-Merrill-Willis (BMW) Shiraz.
Christopher Piper Wines' Kenny Blair

When not restoring her Victorian terraced house in Exeter, Catherine looks after our customers and sales development in Cornwall, Devon and parts of Somerset.

Always rushing around, trying to help her customers or buying reclaimed materials for her house!

  • How long at CPW: Since 1996
  • Favourite wine (s): Her desert island wine is Coma Blanca Mas d’en Gil from Priorat. Catherine loves fine, quality Spanish wines.
Catherine Cheek of Christopher Piper Wines

Multi-tasking (credit control, warehouse and driving), Helen is an extremely talented horsewoman and has only recently retired from being Master of the East Devon Hunt.

Also a very busy mum and wife! Has a soft spot for high quality port!

  • How long at CPW: Since 2002
  • Favourite wine (s): H’s (as she is fondly known) go-to wine is Gary and Kathy Jordan’s Syrah “The Prospector”. Wouldn't say no to a Churchill’s Crusted Port either!
Christopher Piper Wines' Helen Clark

Very much a family man, our Managing and Financial Director is an excellent cook and (unsurprisingly) is passionate about wine and is a hugely experienced and astute taster.

Has kept CPW on the straight and narrow for over 35 years. Enjoys the occasional round of golf and has been known to wield the odd fishing rod, as well!

  • How long at CPW: Since 1980
  • Favourite wine (s): Lots of these!!, Ch. Pontet-Canet, Brunello di Montalcino, Hermitage,Ch. de Malle, Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc 1er Cru les Caillerets, Vosne-Romanée, Erdener Prälat Riesling Auslese
Christopher Piper Wines' John Earle

After a successful career in London, running Corney & Barrow wine bars, Pip moved to Ottery St. Mary. She is an extremely accomplished and highly regarded classical singer, who manages the ‘bottom office’ and is CPW's all-round trouble-shooter.

What Pip doesn't know about food and wine matching is not worth mentioning but then, she is also a wonderful cook. Always calm under fire!

  • How long at CPW: Since 2012
  • Favourite wine (s) :A big fan of things “South West France” and in particular Plaimont’s Courtine Colombard and their Beret Noir. Also has a soft spot for the Jordan’s Stellenbosch Chardonnay.
Christopher Piper Wines' Pip Gascoigne-Pees

Our sales lady in the Cotswolds, London, Wiltshire and (sometimes) Hampshire, Nicky originally came to us from a hotel and restaurant background, despite originally having a degree in microbiology!

Loves climbing mountains and hill-walking. Currently trying to ‘bag’ as many Munros as possible!

  • How long at CPW: Since 2002
  • Favourite wine (s): Gros Manseng, Jordan Chenin Blanc, Chiroubles, César Rouge (Côtes du Rhône) from Vincent Rochette and Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru les Folatières.
Nicky Hall at Christopher Piper Wines

John Earle’s right-hand lady on the purchase ledger, based up in the gods at Silver Street.

Jo has been behind the scenes at CPW for many years and plays an important role, keeping our numerous suppliers happy! When not doing this, Jo is a busy mum, looking after her two sons.

  • How long at CPW: Since 1999
  • Favourite wine (s): Domaine Roche-Audran’s red wines also float Jo’s boat!
Jo Holden of Christopher Piper Wines

Holly started her CPW working life working in the warehouse driving delivery vans. After a short spell working for Mr. Sainsbury, she has thankfully returned to us and is now invoicing and helping out in our retail shop.

Always extremely bubbly, she is a huge asset. A fine horsewoman and a busy mother of three.

  • How long at CPW: Since 2007
  • Favourite wine (s): Loves white wines (particularly Pinson Chablis in magnums). Reds are Rioja and sometimes Bordeaux but always with food.
Christopher Piper Wines' Holly Mingo

Our newest recruit on the delivery team but with a wealth of experience in the police in Warwickshire and more recently, running his own consultancy business.

Andy enjoys “real” beer and wine and is hugely involved in his local, east Devon community, where he also looks after a small farm, with the help of his wife!

  • How long at CPW: Since 2015
  • Favourite wine (s): Definitely a ‘red’ man with preferences for Rioja and St. Emilion.
Christopher Piper Wines'

If anyone at CPW is a multi-tasker it has to be JOK (as he is known). His ‘day job’ is looking after customers and developing sales in Dorset, South Wiltshire and Hampshire.

Otherwise, he is often seen helping out with deliveries and supporting the office team. Passionate (and very knowledgeable) about football. A dad who is closely involved with his two children. Where does he find the time…?

  • How long at CPW: Since 1996
  • Favourite wine (s): JOK’s favourite region is Chile’s Coastal Casablanca/Leyda, which he reckons is more funky than James Brown! Otherwise, his favourite wine is Morellino di Scansano.
Christopher Piper Wines' John O'Keeffe

Peter masterminds the goods in-and-out at CPW. A wonderful sense of humour and his ability to listen makes him an intrinsic part of our team.

When not buzzing around on the forklift, he is to be found at Sandy Park, in Exeter, as he is one of Exeter Chief’s most ardent supporters. Also a big fan of motor sport, making frequent visits to Brands Hatch or Silverstone.

  • How long at CPW: Since 1996
  • Favourite wine (s): Paul Cluver’s Elgin Chardonnay from South Africa.
Peter Pengelly of Christopher Piper Wines

Chairman and Sales Director. Loves the West Country and the Beaujolais region and is lucky enough to work in both!

Has been making wine in the Beaujolais region since the mid–1970’s and is one of the authorities on the region and its wines, about which Chris is currently writing a book. A lover of cricket and cycling but also makes cider for his east Devon village.

  • How long at CPW: Since 1979
  • Favourite wine(s): A big fan of decent red and white Burgundy but his secret love affair is with reds from the northern Rhône. Australian Semillon, with age, also ticks the box, and Beaujolais of course!
Christopher Piper Wines

The official ‘whirlwind’ of CPW! When she’s not racing around seeing her customers, Claire is a full-time mother and wife to JOK (aka. John O’Keeffe).

Claire looks after our ‘local’ customers in east Devon, Exeter and south Somerset. A very accomplished cook and also excellent on her food-and-wine matchings. Also something of a cyclist these days…

  • How long at CPW: Since 1995
  • Favourite wine (s): Claire says that her favourites change with the seasons! Vermentino di Sardegna, Verdejo , Gros Manseng in whites.
The reds – Cesar from Roche Audran – “incredible value!” In Situ Carmenere and for “guilty pleasure” glugging wine – Pinot Grigio Rosé!
Claire Roberts from Christopher Piper Wines

One of CPW’s original team, who has been running CPW’s warehouse and distribution operation since time immemorial!

Martin joined the team when in his mid-twenties and having been to the Kings School, Ottery, is very much a ‘local man’. An avid reader of conspiracy theory books, a keen astronomer and wannabe pilot!

  • How long at CPW: Since 1988
  • Favourite wine (s): Loves Red Rhônes, whether from the south or the north.
Martin Simpson, Working with Christopher Piper Wines

Fiona originally came on board to help out in the office but has moved in to the refined world of electronic media. She runs our web site and generates the CPW Facebook and Twitter ‘campaign’.

An excellent wine taster, Fiona is currently the IGP d’Oc’s Ambassador to the UK. Mother of two, she also finds time to involve herself in serious sea-swimming!

  • How long at CPW: Since 2002
  • Favourite wine (s): Pol Roger Vintage Rosé floats Fiona’s boat but so does an Austrian Brundlemayer Gruner Veltliner.
Fiona Taylor at Christopher Piper Wines

Sarah joined us when she was very young, way back in the early 2000’s. She quickly became an integral part of CPW’s administrative team in the ‘downstairs office’, being in charge of invoicing and ‘goods inwards’.

Now a mother of two, Sarah is very much an East Devon girl, with strong connections in the local farming community.

  • How long at CPW: Since 2006
  • Favourite wine (s): Sarah says “I’m not fussy”! However, preferences lie with unoaked Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Malbec and Merlot. Quite a range then!
Christopher Piper Wines' Sarah Tuck

KT is CPW’s answer to Shaking Stephens! Originally a butcher from Newton Abbot and, more latterly, in East Devon. KT drives long distances for CPW and has a very strong, loyal following amongst our customers.

Describes himself as “chief wine taster” on his Facebook!

Loves holidaying in Turkey and says that he’s now almost fluent in the language!

  • How long at CPW: Since 2004
  • Favourite wine (s): Very keen on South African Chardonnay (and decent cider!)
Keith Turner With Christopher Piper Wines

In some way or other, Jonathan has been part of CPW since the beginning of the Company. For many years, he was a customer, working at local establishments such as Combe House, the Drewe Arms and the Deer Park Hotel.

Always passionate and knowledgeable about wine, it was logical that, when he joined CPW, Jonathan plays a significant role as “customer support adviser”. Also an excellent cook with a first-rate personal cellar!

  • How long at CPW: Since 2005
  • Favourite wine(s): Very definitely Château Léoville-las-Cases!
